The publication highlights the Portuguese “gracious people”, the “bustling capital”, the “tempting beaches” and the “green valleys that are more attractive than ever for an increasing number of people”.
Every year in January, this magazine establishes a list of “The World’s Best Places to Retire”, these 10 best places for retirees to live are chosen, based on the Global Retirement Index. The study analyzed 24 countries in 10 different categories, including cost of living, benefits offered to pensioners, ease of obtaining a visa or residence permit, climate or health care. Portugal was placed in the lead in categories such as health care, climate and accommodation. The country was also well ranked in categories such as entertainment, socialization and development.
